AHA Cardiovascular Genome Phenome Study: Helpful Links for Accessing FHS Data

The Framingham Heart Study is proud to be partnering with the American Heart Association (AHA) and Jackson Heart Study, and we look forward to helping applicants access the data they need.

The CVGPS is a collaboration among AHA, Boston University, and the University of Mississippi Medical Center, the academic coordinating center homes, respectively, of the Framingham Heart Study and the Jackson Heart Study. The Jackson Heart Study also involves Jackson State University and Tougaloo College as partner institutions.

Here are some places to start:

  1. AHA RFA, for project information, peer-review criteria, and application requirements and deadlines.
  2. Sources of FHS Data:
    1. dbGAP (genotypic and phenotypic data)
    2. BioLINCC (phenotypic data only: no specimen, genetic, or participant contact data)

Important: Data from the above sources do not require an FHS research application.

    3. FHS (phenotypic data)
  3. FHS "For Researchers" page:
    • Data description (includes data collected at different exams, as well as coding manuals, forms, and protocols)
    • Exam table (includes number of exams, exam date ranges, age ranges, mean ages, and number of attendees)
    • Consent forms
    • Data and Materials Distribution Agreement
