Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS) Study

About the Study
The Framingham Heart Study invites all Gen 3 and Omni 2 participants to participate in a research study on Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS), a complex and not yet fully understood condition characterized by heightened sensitivity to low levels of everyday chemicals, such as fragrances, cleaning agents, and pesticides.
We are conducting one of the first large scale studies of MCS to better understand how common this condition is in the community and identify factors that may be associated with it.
Why Is This Study Important?
The goal of this study is to improve our understanding of MCS and related environmental sensitivities. The knowledge gained may help support earlier identification of MCS and contribute to a better understanding of approaches to managing symptoms.
What Does Participation Involve?
Participation is straightforward and involves the following:
- Complete a brief survey: Answer questions about chemical sensitivity.
- Time commitment: The survey typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete.
- Medical records (if applicable): Participants who report a diagnosis of MCS will be asked for permission to obtain relevant medical records.
Participant Appreciation
As a token of appreciation for your time and participation, you will receive a one-time $25 Amazon gift card.
