[Opening scene] Framingham Heart Study Directors Jessica L. Fetterman, PhD, and Deepa M. Gopal, MD, MS, appear seated next to each other on screen.
Jessica L. Fetterman, PhD: At the Framingham Heart Study, we’ve been studying heart health for decades. Thanks to the incredible dedication of generations of Framingham Heart Study participants.
Deepa M. Gopal, MD, MS: We have made groundbreaking discoveries that have promoted health, prevented disease, and improved the lives of countless individuals around the globe.
Animated illustrations show two stylized hands holding a red heart and blue lungs against a dark blue background.
Narrator: To donate your heart and lungs to the FHS LEGACY Program, you sign up after providing consent.
On-screen graphics and informational visuals reference the FHS LEGACY Program and tissue donation process. An illustration of a laptop displays an organ donation form with an option to withdraw participation.
Narrator: Only the next of kin that you designate will know about your participation in the donation program, and you can withdraw at any time.
Animated illustrations depict families, framed photographs, memorial services with flowers and candles, support conversations, and healthcare professionals.
Narrator: We understand this is a difficult time. When a participant is enrolled in the FHS LEGACY Program and passes away, the assigned next of kin will contact the donation line available 24/7.
Narrator: From there, we will manage the donation process with care and empathy.
Visuals transition to respectful clinical and memorial imagery. Illustrations display three circles labeled “Respect,” “Care,” and “Dignity.” A clock graphic indicates the process takes less than one hour.
Narrator: A trained medical professional removes the heart and lungs at the location where the body will be prepared for the final rites.
Narrator: The whole process will happen in under an hour without affecting the appearance of participants or impacting celebration of life or memorial services.
Visuals emphasize respectful care and family remembrance through illustrations of memorial services and supportive family interactions.
Narrator: Your donation helps scientists improve care, save lives, and continue vital research with dignity and compassion.
Narrator: Your prior contributions to research have led to many scientific discoveries and will be linked to this final tissue donation.
An illustration of capsule-shaped puzzle pieces appears on screen labeled “Heart Imaging,” “Lifestyle,” “Blood,” “Brain,” “ECG,” “Genetics,” and “Lung Tests.”
Donald M. Lloyd-Jones, MD, ScM, appears on screen.
Donald M. Lloyd-Jones, MD, ScM: Your donation will help us advance lifesaving research for years to come.
Donald M. Lloyd-Jones, MD, ScM: Thank you.
[Closing scene] Framingham Heart Study and LEGACY program branding appears on screen.
