Reducing Consumption of Sugar-Sweetened Beverage Consumption Decreases Risk of Diabetes & Heart Disease

For Accessibility Users: Image above includes decorative icons to describe research findings. Text reads: In past exams, we observed interesting relations between blood ceramide levels, a specific type of lipids that is central to the risk of obesity. More frequent consumption of soda raises the concentration of certain ceramides in our blood. These ceramides in turn can influence our metabolism adversely. These findings suggest that reducing your daily consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages could help lower your risk of having metabolic diseases, such as diabetes and heart disease.
